If you're thinking about MBA

You are same with me! ^_^ High five!

Alhamdulillah.
Thanks Allah, I meet this advise before I finally make my decision..
..here the link :http://www.envisionmba.com/Home/MBA-Overview/Things-you-need-to-know-before-applying-to-an-MBA

And here the advise + my respond. :D

The MBA degree is designed primarily for students who are considering a career change or hoping to advance in their careers, (may be that's the reason the requirement to join MBA is min 2.5years or 3 years working experience)
therefore, implying that an MBA is a “terminal degree.(hmm.. this is first time I heard this term " terminal degree". what's that mean ? it means :is the highest academic degree in a given field of study

Not only is the MBA degree commonly considered one's “last stop” in education, (owh eh? this my reaction.. ~ hehe.. because I think MBA can be my 2nd stop before doing Phd :p
but also many MBA students actually pursue an MBAs after having completed an advanced degree e.g. master's or doctor's degrees in another discipline.  (owh.. ? that's why they consider MBA as " terminal degree")

Because post-MBA plans are always career-oriented, (aha..! now I think I almost understand. :D
Alright this some advise on how to plan after you done your MBA (post-MBA plans)  here  )

do not consider your MBA as the transition to a higher degree. ( Alright! This is a very good ADVICE for me ^_^ ! )
Students wishing to pursue PhDs or DBAs at a later time should choose programs that have a more research and academic emphasis.  (MashaAllah.. Alhamdulillah.. I'm glad to find this advice. )

So..

I'll say to MBA "wait for a while.."

and InshaAllah,  I'm going to pursue study in Master Economics or Master in Accounting.. Somewhere in that fields.

Masters Economics vs. MBA vs. Masters Finance : read here

Why an MBA Is Not Always the Right Choice : read here

Please make dua' (Prayer) for me.

My ambition? Revising it..

At year 25++ years old,
I'm asking back my faq during my childhood . :)

what is my ambition..?

I have once said to my mum , I want to be a lawyer..
(but that was during my age at Standard School.. plus because I watch several drama series relates with lawyer.. yup.. it's interesting, so many cases can be solved and crisis able to handle well.. even though sometimes they facing trails and challenges, but with wisdom and critical thinking, they succeed.. )
hehe.. that's make me so admire about lawyer..  ("lawyer" in that drama series.. :D)

After join boarding school for my High School, here we had been learned more about Science and Maths matters..
so the options that usually show for us are to become doctor, chemist, dentist, accountant, engineer & architecture ..
Well.. I'm fine with the options, because I'm also have lost some interest to become lawyer.. because.. have gain some interest to become Accountant.. :p
(people asked me why I choose Accounting subject, while most of my friends choose Biology subject... I usually give my frankly answer.. "Because I'm not really interested to go deep and learn more about the Science.. - I'm so called not-Science-lover but not really hate..:D)

Well, after look like an "accounting" child..
so I pursue my higher education by taking Accounting Degree.
Alhamdulillah.. I've completed my studies and now working in Accounting fields.

And now.. after almost two years & 6 months working..
I'm now really want to "revise" back my ambition.. :D

So..
I got several options (interested) to be now ~ :D

1. a Financial Analyst
2. an Accounting Lecturer
3. a TV Host
4. full time housewife. :p

So dear me,
Please revise and improve your ambition..
As ambition comes with commitment and work hard.

You have first, examine your attitude currently .. :)

Because I think what I have now is not much.. and I have to struggle more to gain what in my imagination.

Because definition happiness toO high level..
Huhu..

My happiness defind by what I get..
But actually I now think. .

Hoping others understand me..

Hoping others understand you..

It always happen to me.
And I'm always get frustrated then..
Because usually no body really bother about my feelings !

Urgh..

People..
There's nothing worth  for me to hope for their attention.

Me..
But why you keep looking from them?

Allah..
Without telling.. You know what exactly what I feel.

But dear me,
People not God. they don't really know what you feel..
You have to explain and justify your feeling.
They actually also have their own problems and difficulties..
And perhaps, it's me had done the same thing to other..

Astaghfirullah..

So what u give, u get back?

To improve self
1. Explain what u feel .. explain clear voice.. not yelling or while crying..
(emotional is optional, and let be wise to be focus on finding solution.. not really the feelings.. Let Allah fix your feeling.. =)

2. Blame no one
(Improve your self and other.. let make others be good, and Allah will help you feel better ^_^)

3. Bukan menjadi orang yang dihargai, tetapi jadilah orang yang berharga..
(Pujian itu ujian, Ujian itu Nikmat, Nikmat itu Ujian..)

Thinking of study abroad

It has been almost two years and 5 months I'm being an employee  , and that also means the duration of my  "rehat" I have took..

Deep in my heart, I want to further my study..
But.. what makes me taking so long time to decide..? why I'm taking a long time for rehat time??

Usually before end of our degree, our friends and juniors will ask what our future plan..
As Bachelor accounting students, I'll happily will answer..  I'm planning to take ACCA (with balance 5 papers more) :D

and many more answer la i had gave :P
-Working,
- Support my younger sisters and brothers education,
- Getting married, become wife and mum..

But..
After these while..
What I have done is working..
Which I felt I'm so struggling to be enthusiasm in it..
huh? weird?

Now I realise..
I think my passion is in education line.. (I think :p)

So.. to be fit in education line, I think it is better for me to have Master..
As ACCA was in my dream once upon a time, I did asked my senior about her opinion on ACCA,
(Actually she was done taking ACCA) - But her suggestion for me is taking Master of Accounting..

Currently in process to apply master.. if ACCA possible to apply, I also will apply. just apply first then if get the offer letter, I will discuss back with my senior and seek advise from my lecturer ke.. (After two years not meet them.. :P)

Wallahu'alam..

I'm writing this post so that I want to see the progress on my effort and future planning..
as previously I'm not really check list on my future planning, so hope this as one of good method to monitor my "planning" ^_^

Wassalam..

Tips Pertahanan Diri Untuk Wanita

Dari Blog : http://blogtokwan.blogspot.com/2012/01/tips-pertahanan-diri-untuk-wanita.html
Tips Pertahanan Diri Untuk Wanita

Kemudian lonjakkan kepala anda agar terkena bahagian dagu penyerang.

Salam Ukhuwah..~

Muslimah~This her way :)

I am a Muslim woman
Feel free to ask me why
When I walk,
I walk with dignity
When I speak
I do not lie
I am a Muslim woman
Not all of me you'll see
But what you should appreciate
Is that the choice I make is free
I'm not plagued with depression
I'm neither cheated nor abused
I don't envy other women
And I'm certainly not confused
Note, I speak perfect English
Et un petit peu de Francais aussi
I'm majoring in Linguistics
So you need not speak slowly
I run my own small business
Every cent I earn is mine
I drive my Chevy to school & work
And no, that's not a crime!
You often stare as I walk by
You don't understand my veil
But peace and power I have found
As I am equal to any male!
I am a Muslim woman
So please don't pity me
For God has guided me to truth
And now I'm finally free!

Time Management for Muslims and Muslimas

Use Your Time Wisely

Whether you currently work full-time, part-time or not at all, you have a certain amount of time each day to maximize. Approach your time like you would a financial budget by allocating time to different aspects of your life. Categorize these into groupings such as work, studying, blogging, networking, reading, exercising or volunteering and then prioritize (number-one through whatever). From there, you can decide how much time each week should be dedicated to each based on how you have them prioritized. Sunday is always a good day to schedule your week out to make sure you give the proper amount of time to everything

Rafik Beekun, theIslamicworkplace.com

I am always amazed by how time challenged Muslims are–whether as a student, a businessman or businesswoman, or a homemaker. Time management can be daunting as you seek to balance your responsibilities for this dunya and your responsibilities for akheera. Staying on target can get easily swept aside if you do not manage your time carefully.

In Islam, wasting time is discouraged. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “God said, ‘The offspring of Adam abuse time, (even though) I am Time.’” In Surah 103, “The flight of time”, Allah in the Qur’an states, “By the decline of Time, indeed humankind is in a condition of utter loss–except for those who believe and do righteous deeds–and exhort one another to uphold the truth, and exhort one another to persevere in faith with patience.

Ibn Abbas narrated that Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said: “There are two blessings which many people lose: (They are) health and free time for doing good.” (Bukhari 8/421). The Prophet (s) used to make the following du’a,
“O Allah! Make life a means for every dimension of goodness.”

One very moving hadith is related by Ibn-Abbas; the Prophet (s) said, “Grab five things before five others: your youth before your decrepitude, your health before your illness, your wealth before your poverty, your leisure before your work, and your life before your death.” [al-Hakim in al-Mustadrak]

Stephen Covey’s time management matrix is a useful tool to manage your time. It centers on two factors: importance and urgency. Please view the video for more explanation on how prioritize your time.

I have read many time management books and watched numerous videos on this topic. May I suggest that you watch my video on time management (part of my Islamic Management course). A short and concise list of tips of managing your time can also be found here.

Here is a very informative khutbah on Time Managment by Muhammad Al Shareef.

Seerah & Productivity :)

BEING PATIENT
Khabbab bin Al-Aratt once urged the Messenger (sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam)to call upon Allâh (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) to shield him against the adversities he was suffering at the hand of the polytheists. The Prophet’s remarked that it was incumbent upon a believer to undergo the trials of life as much as he could, fearing nobody except Allâh until the religion was established, which would surely happen.
Let’s face it, many Muslims today want quick answers to all our problems – we want quick wins to solve the ummah’s issues, and we don’t want to sacrifice our comforts. Why are we apathetic towards our ummah, or complaining to make all our problems go?
Victory and success needs patience; patience to be productive and active regardless of the odds; patience to bear the brunt of what others say and continue to do good and stay firm on Allah’s path; patience to see things through till the end until peace and security prevails.
So let us roll up our sleeves and be ready to work for the ummah and for the akhirah..

Effective Study Motivation Tips

Effective Study Motivation Tips :

Get yourself to pick that book up now!

Finding it hard to get study motivation? Have a big test coming up but just not motivated to study? Fallen back on your classes but still not able to get yourself to pick up the books?

Well you’re not the only one feeling this way. Whether you are currently a student studying in school or an adult picking up new knowledge, all of us have experienced lack of motivation to study. This is especially so when the subject you’re studying interests you as much as watching paint dry!

Fortunately, with will power, determination and some simple tips & techniques, anyone can turn their dislike into study motivation.

Studying can be fun, interesting and exciting. Never label studying as “boring”, “painful” or “uncomfortable”. That way you’ll be pre-framing yourself negatively even before you start. You’d have lost the battle before it even began. In fact, don’t even call it a battle. Studying is a meaningful journey of discovery.

Useful Study Motivation Tips

study motivation
1. Be Curious – get interested in the subject you’re studying

When you’re interested in the subject you’re studying, things become so much easier. You’ll be naturally motivated to learn and read about it. So how do we become interested in what we’re studying? We adopt a curious attitude. As long as you’re curious enough, anything can be interesting.

Question it, use your imagination, get inside the subject, understand what makes it tick, find out how you can apply it in life, read real life case studies. There are many ways to make a subject interesting when you adopt a curious mindset.

2. Set a schedule and study at the right time

Set a study schedule everyday. It’s good to plan your day in advance. Set a specific time for studying, and a time for playing or relaxing. This way, you won’t worry about ‘missing’ your fun. You may be studying hard now, but youknow that later on you’ll be enjoying yourself. So this keeps you focused on studying in the present.

Here’s a tip : When planning your day, it’s always good to study first. If you think you should watch some TV or relax a little first before ‘getting down to it’, you’re making a big mistake. Doing that will only make it harder for you to start studying. The first step is always the hardest.

Also when setting study schedules, schedule your studying time at the time of the day where there will be the least distractions. Also choose the time when you’re at your peak state to study. This means obviously not studying after heavy meals (where digestion will make you sleepy) and times where you’ll be tired (ie. late nights)

3. Get started – 5 minute challenge

The hardest part of doing anything is getting started. The first step is always the toughest. After you got that out of the way, it’s all downhill. This is because once you’ve got momentum; it’s easy to keep it going. So it’s vital that you get yourself going in the first place.

study motivation
This study motivation tip can help you get started. This is what you can do, whenever you’re not motivated to start studying, just plan to study for 5 minutes. That’s it, just 5 minutes. Tell yourself that you’ll be studying seriously for 5 minutes then you’ll stop.

Usually, what happens is after the 5 minutes are up, you would have been well into the swing of things that you’ll want to continue studying longer. Yeah that’s right. It’s quite a cool way to ‘trick’ ourselves. The key here is to make sure that for those 5 minutes you are really studying 100%. Not dreaming or getting distracted by other stuff.

4. Stop/start at the fun part

When having to stop for breaks, meals or other activities, plan to stop when you’re at a fun part of the subject. The parts that are more interesting and enjoyable to you. This way, when you continue to study later, it’ll be much easier to get started because you’ll be starting at the fun parts.

5. Remove distractions from your surroundings

Obviously this is very important for your study motivation. When you got the TV, phone, computer, bed, magazines etc nearby, you’ll be easily tempted to throw your books aside. Try to remove as many distractions away from you as possible.

You don’t need strand yourself on an island with only your books. Just make sure that any of these distractions are not near you.

When the remote is right next to you, you’re more likely to pick it up. Same with your phone, laptop etc. But if you have to walk all the way across to another part of the house to watch TV chances are you’ll be less likely to do it.

6. Set a study area – make it as conducive as possible

study motivation
The environment can play a big part in your study motivation. Imagine studying in a dimly lit, hot and stuffy room with loud music on playing in the corner. Or, in a quiet room, bright, with the right temperature and good air ventilation. Which room would make you feel more motivated to study?

If possible, have a regular study area. Make sure it’s conducive like being well lit, has ventilation, quiet and so on. Place all your notebooks, stationary, reference books in your study area. Make your study area as conducive to studying as possible.

7. Put yourself in a strong motivated state
Take 5 minutes before you start studying to put yourself into the proper state. Turn off any music, sit down, clear your mind and take deep breaths. Say a prayer or do some visualizations and light meditation. Visualize yourself happily studying and clearly understanding what you have learned.

Other methods include pumping yourself up by saying encouraging words and making a fist, and also by using NLP techniques such as anchoring and submodalities.

8. Set Goals

Setting goals will give you more motivation. When there’s a target to aim at, we’ll be more determined rise up to the challenge and push ourselves to achieve it. The sense of satisfaction from the achievement is also a good confidence booster. And it will cultivate a studying habit.

Set goals such as how many sections/chapters you plan to cover within a period of time, grades to score in tests and others.

9. Reward yourself

study motivationFinally remember to reward yourself for the job well done. If you’ve stuck to your schedule, didn’t let yourself get distracted and successfully achieved the goals you set out, you deserve a reward for that.

Reward yourself immediately. It doesn’t even need to be anything major, just simple things like enjoying an ice-cream sundae, watching your favorite TV show or calling friends up to chat. Of course, also give yourself big rewards whenever you have major achievements.

Final thoughts…

Remember, the toughest part in studying is to get started. As long as
you are determined and push yourself to pick up the book, half the battle is already won. With willpower,
determination and using the study motivation tips above, getting study motivation shouldn’t be a probl
em anymore!
